Serious threat-please help me friends
This had been bugging me for few months.Someone copied my facebook profile information and created a fake account in impersonating me few months ago.I notified facebook about it and they deleted that fake profile.
Now some “well wisher” of mine (at least he/she says to be that) has been randomly posting obscene comments in my website.I don’t know whether this person is the same person who stole my facebook information or not.Fortunately I can moderate my comments,but he/she is growing to become a major threat.From what he/she wrote,I think he/she knows me.I don’t know why he/she is doing this,but if I keep ignoring,he/she will soon become a major threat.I don’t remember harming or doing anything bad to anyone,why does these things happen to me?Oh god,I’m trying my best to recuperate from my recent break up,I don’t have enough strength to go through these crap.
Sometimes he is commenting that I’m wasting my time doing this website thinggy,and that I got sacked from my job (where as my ex-colleagues know that I had resigned; so that means he is not one from my ex-colleagues).Then later he made some really bad comments about me.Recently,he posted this in my website’s homepage-
“DONT PURCHASE ANYHTING FROM THIS SITE….THIS SITE IS HOSTED BY A HACKER WHO STEALS YOUR BANK/ CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AND WILL LAND YOU IN A COMPLETE FALSE POSITION STAY AAY FROM THIS SITE FOR BETTER.”
Please suggest me friends what I should do.Here I am,trying to make an honest living and enjoying what I love doing by helping out people in my small way with free walkthroughs,game help,etc…and somebody is determined to ruin me.I know there are many methods to track a cyber criminal,but which one would be the best?I don’t know whom do I turn to.I feel so horrified,disgusted….mostly because I haven’t yet overcome the shock of my break up. I seriously need your help my friends.
Edited on 25th Apr: The police told me to wait for his next move.They said if he is intelligent enough,he will not do it again.And if he is a really desperate idiot,eager to defame and affect my business reputation(thus hampering my business),he’ll retry his attempt.And this time,that will be enough to arrest him.They also asked me to preserve his IP address and the comments carefully as proof of his misdeeds.
Wow…now that’s a sucky situation your in. I’ve not yet had any real bad Facebook experiences though I did have a friend that had someone kind of stalking her on her Facebook page before (posting weird creepy stuff). I know she changed a lot of her settings and removed a lot of info to avoid him and since nothing seems to have happened further. So, you really need to be careful with Facebook since it isn’t always as safe as sometimes people think. As for your situation, I hope nothing like violence against you has come up because that would definitely be a report to the police immediately kind of thing (though I might report this to the authorities anyways just so there’s a record in case anything *knocks on wood* happens). The only methods I can think of are blocking his ip adress or something so he can’t access the site or at least not post. Also, there are means in locating people through ip addresses and such but not sure you really want to confront someone like this. All I know is it will take more than a nut job to scare me away from this site…stay strong and good things will happen

Actually the problem is occurring in my website this time and not on facebook.I have informed the cyber police about it and let’s see what they do.If comments like this would have got posted on my comments,can you imagine how seriously it could have affected my business,especially to new visitors?I can’t imagine…..I tried blocking his IP for the first time,but since the ISP generates dynamic IP every time,so it had no effect virtually.
Now the police over here are not that responsive kind when it comes to mails,so I guess I have to pay a visit there as I think this is a serious issue.Thanks for your support though!It is relieving to find people responding…at least I don’t feel alone anymore.

You mentioned a recent breakup…. any chance your harasser could be your ex?
No because he is technologically challenged.and I had discussed this issue with him before the break up.He knows I can track IP addresses,so I think he won’t be a foolish enough to do this mistake.
I am so sorry someone has to be so mean. I guess they are way jealous of the success of your site and are trying to bring you down. You will find a way to get them!!
